About your drum lessons with Karen
Drum tutor Karen has been playing the drums for 30 years, during which time she has gained extensive experience in performing, recording and teaching. She has played with many different bands and musicians and has extensive live performance experience, playing nationwide as well as studio recording, radio and touring experience. She has been mentored by several teachers, studying styles such as rock, funk, latin, world, jazz, pop, reggae, RnB and soul and is proficient in teaching all styles and abilities.
Karen has a passion for sharing her love and knowledge of playing drums. She is dedicated to helping each pupil get the most out of their learning and playing experience.
Lessons are tailored to suit the individuals needs, goals and preferred methods of learning.
Lessons are held in a fully equipped studio which includes two acoustic kits and an electric kit.
Karen is committed to teaching to a high standard and sharing her lifelong passion for music.
Interested in doing grades?
A grade syllabus is available but is not compulsory. Should you feel you wish to do grades Karen has experience in teaching various different syllabus, including Trinity Guildhall, Trintity Rock and Pop and Rockschool. She will discuss these with you to find which one best suits your goals and interests.
